This past weekend Bearden was attacked by Forest Fairies and it may never be the same again. For two days straight Forest Fairies flew into and out of town all day and even up into the night. Oh but the fun we had. There were flying fairies, swimming fairies, and even a sleeping fairy or two. I was taught by experts the different types of fairies and what they do in a normal day. It was a great learning experience, so Thank You to all the fairies that came from near and far to see me.

It was cold, wet and some of the locations even smelled bad but we made the most of it and walked away with some killer shots!!! We did Urban and the Studio all in one day (it’s true I could take portraits all day long). Of all the things Tyler brought my favorite was his girlfriend. Can you say drop dead gorgeous? (And soooo sweet too) Enjoy

On Dec 13th I had the honor to have the big guy sit in my ugly gold chair (that he made look fabulous) for portraits. We had so many stop by for portraits, to visit, or just hangout. I think I can honestly say at one point we had over 100 people in the studio at the same time. My only regret, I wish I could have visited more. I was in the shooting room most of the time, not that hanging out with the coolest guy around wasn’t neat. Maybe next year I’ll have a chance to at least poke my head in and say hi more. Here are a couple of the big guy making some Christmas dreams come true. Enjoy

I went on an amazing adventure for this Senior. I headed to Tyler, TX for his first of two sessions. There’s nothing like MotoCross to get your blood pumping. Not only have I never shot MotoCross but I’ve never even seen a race before. I had a blast!!! The hardest part was just keeping up with my rider. I was blessed with a sunny day so I could keep my shutter speed up there to stop all action. In some of the images you can see the dirt clots in midair. My only regret, he only raced 4 races while I was there, I may be hooked on MotoCross Photography. Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy

I was in Chugwater, WY when I got the call for this senior’s session. It was so cool saying; no I can’t do a session tomorrow I’m in ChugWater, WY. His mother is a friend of mine and felt so bad, but no one really knew we were going out of town so I reassured her, there’s no way she could have known. That if she would have waited another day to call she wouldn’t have gotten me at all, I have no reception in Yellowstone. Back to the session, Extreme Garden was the session that was chosen. I love shooting at this location, there are so many possibilities and it is so beautiful. He brought back so many memories for me. He has that same individualism I had when I was that age. I’m sure his mom remembers
Enjoy.

The next Senior I had to book for the Cash for College Contest is a Grover, my first Senior from that school. All I can say is he has the GQ look down. I actually have a 20×30 from his Urban Session hanging in the studio. At first I don’t think he saw my vision to well, but as the shoot went on he realized just because I put him in an alley full of dumped furniture doesn’t mean the images aren’t going to be killer. I’m so looking forward to his Studio Session later on. Here are a couple of my favorites. Enjoy

I wasn’t too worried about the heat issue at the studio since I’m in south Arkansas, but ya’ll its getting cold this year. Don’t get me wrong I tried the heat when we bought the building, it just hummed though. I was more concerned about having air more than anything at the time. But now since winter is here and the highs are only getting into the 40s it’s time to try the heat again. (Yes in my mind it should work this time.) Nope nothing it still hummed, I have no idea why either. Well come to find out when you have a natural gas heating unit it won’t work if you’ve never had the gas turned on. Luckily I did figure this out before I called the repair guy. I’m sure they would have loved to talk about that at the shop for years to come. So after getting a meter, getting gas lines pressure checked, and finally getting the gas turned on I HAVE HEAT!!! Next is hot water.

I wanted to go ahead and make the announcement that Santa Claus is coming to Stamps Photography on Dec 13th. The Bearden parade is at 3:00pm and as soon as it’s over Santa is going to be at the studio for portraits. Stamps Photography is offering 5×7 prints for $8.00. The studio will open at 1:00pm for Christmas shopping. I have arranged for Jewelry by DH, PartyLite, and Mary Kay to all be set up for your shopping convenience. Plus for the first time Stamps Photography is going to be offering a selected few prints from our Nature Collection for ordering. Coco and cookies are also going to be served. Hope to see you there.
